This one is big for me. When I play, I play quietly.
Players have this overwhelming urge to just spill the beans about anything and everything. We're in a dramatically social environment, wanting to be the one person that has all the answers. I get it, but it is tiresome for Storytellers. You help the Player create a concept or tailor a storyline to their conceptual design and all they want to do is get to the reveal. It falls in line with table talk for me, but oddly in Character.
Example: You have this super secretive concept that has been tricking the Camarilla for a century based off layered alternate identities, but as soon as you enter the Chronicle you start hinting at or downright reveal your secret identity to other Players in Character or out of Character. Too much, too soon. Why not sit back and enjoy the ride? put some effort into the long con and get people where you want them. I see this a lot of Clan Tzimisce. They are your number one infiltrators in a Camarilla Chronicle. They don't have a lot of options when it comes to open concept design. Independent Tzimisce are rare, and Camarilla Tzimisce shouldn't survive coming out of the closet.
In the end it is what it is.
As a Storyteller, though, I am hesitant to help Players keep secrets. Too many people talk, bragging or otherwise, about their concepts and they don't know how to play their cards close to their chest.
